131 construction works tenders close between 16 and 29 October 2026, with £507.5m of contracts on offer

Contractors have 131 open construction works tenders from 110 public-sector buyers to consider over the next fortnight, with deadlines falling between 16 and 29 October 2026, according to Find a Tender data published by the Cabinet Office.

The buyers' own estimates for the 116 tenders covering a single contract add up to £507,488,874, or £507.5m. A further nine tenders are for framework agreements or dynamic purchasing systems, whose ceiling values are not included in that total.

The deadlines are spread almost evenly across the two weeks. Some 65 fall between 16 and 22 October and 66 between 23 and 29 October.

By place of work, Wales has the most tenders closing in the period, with 23.

The largest opportunities

The biggest contract by estimated value is High Path Phase 3, London Borough of Merton, from Clarion Regeneration Limited. The notice, published on 23 September 2026, puts the estimated value at £90m excluding VAT and sets a deadline for requests to participate of 26 October 2026 at 12:00.

Clarion Regeneration is running a competitive flexible procedure to appoint a contractor to design and build 260 apartments, all of them affordable, along with the associated landscaping, access and infrastructure.

Northumberland County Council is seeking a development partner for the former Hexham Middle School site, with an estimated value of £50m excluding VAT. The council, which owns the site in Hexham, wants a mixed residential development that includes an affordable extra care scheme and affordable housing. Requests to participate are due by 26 October 2026 at 12:00 under a competitive flexible procedure.

The same deadline applies to North Ayrshire Council's measured term contract for a combined re-roofing, re-rendering, external wall insulation and solar PV programme on residential properties across North Ayrshire. The council estimates the contract at £44,894,399 excluding VAT and is using an open procedure. The initial contract period is three years from 1 April 2027.

Two sizeable tenders close on 16 October 2026 at 12:00. Montrose Port Authority wants a contractor to design and build a new quay with hardstanding, utilities and dredging at Montrose Port, a restricted procedure estimated at £35m excluding VAT and classified as harbour construction works.

Rochdale Boroughwide Housing Limited is running an open procedure for repairs services estimated at £32,197,500 including VAT. The scope covers day-to-day responsive repairs to occupied properties, empty homes refurbishment, out-of-hours emergency repairs for a limited number of specialist trades and compliance-related works.

Other contracts in the table below include Barbican Renewal Programme demolition and structures work for the City of London Corporation, estimated at £16m, Basildon station platform replacements for C2C Railway Limited at £20m, and a £15m land design and build contract for Woven Housing Association Ltd in Lisburn, Northern Ireland.

How the figures were compiled

The figures come from tender notices on Find a Tender, the UK government's procurement notice service, read from its open contracting data feed as it stood on 15 October 2026. They count open notices classified by the buyer under division 45 of the Common Procurement Vocabulary, construction work, with a deadline for tenders or requests to participate between 16 and 29 October 2026. Only notices published or updated since 18 August 2026 were read, so older tenders not updated since then are left out, and estimated values are the buyers' own, excluding VAT where the notice gives that figure. Deadlines can change, so check the notice itself before relying on a date.
