How the figures were compiled

The figures come from tender notices published on Find a Tender, the UK government's procurement notice service, read from its open contracting data feed under the Open Government Licence v3.0 as it stood on 22 October 2026. They count open notices that the buyer classified as construction work under division 45 of the Common Procurement Vocabulary, with a deadline for tenders or requests to participate between 23 October and 5 November 2026; only notices published or updated since 18 August 2026 were read, so an older tender not updated since is not included. Estimated values are the buyers' own, excluding VAT where the notice gives that figure, and framework and dynamic purchasing system ceilings are counted but not added to the total. Deadlines can change, so check the notice itself before relying on a date.
