Galliford Try wins second Pagabo framework place in three weeks with £5bn major works deal
The contractor has secured lots covering the South West, South East, London and Scotland on Pagabo's four-year National Framework for Major Works, weeks after winning 82 lots on the procurement body's civils framework.

Galliford Try has been appointed to the £5bn Pagabo National Framework for Major Works, the contractor announced on 20 October, taking places on lots covering the South West, South East, London and Scotland.
The company said it has won places on Lot 4, for projects valued between £30m and £60m, across the South West, South East and London, and on Lot 5, for projects above £60m, in Scotland.
The framework runs for four years and covers public sector buildings and facilities for local authorities and other public bodies across the UK, according to Galliford Try.
Bill Hocking, Chief Executive for Galliford Try, said: "Having been recently appointed to Pagabo's Infrastructure framework, we are delighted to be working with them once again on this important public sector framework."
The framework
Pagabo, which announced the suppliers on 19 October, said the National Framework for Major Works is split across five lots and that appointed firms include Morgan Sindall, Wates and BAM. Pagabo's own announcement did not name Galliford Try; the contractor's place is confirmed by its own release.
The two organisations describe the value slightly differently. Galliford Try gives a flat £5bn figure, while Pagabo said the framework has estimated total values of up to £5bn.
YPO is the centralised procurement authority for the framework, with Pagabo acting as framework manager responsible for its design, delivery and ongoing management, Pagabo said.
The procurement body said the framework complies with the Procurement Act 2023 and the Procurement Regulations 2024, and is now live and free for all public sector organisations to access. It can be used by local government, NHS and health service providers among other public sectors, and covers areas including the North, Midlands, South West and South East of England.
Pagabo's framework page describes the Major Works offering as being for projects of £5m and above, with a choice of national and regional contractors.
David Llewellyn, construction and infrastructure director at Pagabo, said: "Through our role as framework manager, we will help clients procure confidently and compliantly,"
The civils win
The appointment follows Galliford Try's place on Pagabo's new civil engineering framework, which the contractor announced on 30 September. Galliford Try said it had been appointed to 82 lots in total across the four-year framework, with lots spanning highways, rail, water and environment, energy, nuclear and defence.
Galliford Try called that agreement the £4.3bn Pagabo National Framework for Civil Engineering and Infrastructure. Pagabo, announcing the suppliers on 1 October, named it the £4.29bn National Framework for Civil Engineering, Infrastructure and Enabling Works and said 111 suppliers had been appointed across 13 lots.
Pagabo said the new civils offering combines the scope of its previous National Framework for Civils and Infrastructure with an earlier framework.
Order book
The two framework places come after Galliford Try reported a record order book of £4.3bn in its full-year results on 17 September. The company said adjusted profit before tax reached £55.9m, up 24.2%, and that its margin rose to 3.5%, an increase of 53 basis points over the year, describing the results as another year of strong growth.
Galliford Try says it actively targets and maintains places on significant public sector frameworks as part of its strategic plan. The company is on 13 lots of the Government Commercial Agency framework, formerly Crown Commercial Service, and is one of six Principal Supply Chain Partners on the NHS ProCure23 framework.
The Major Works framework will run for a four-year term.
