McLaughlin & Harvey operations director Adrian Pollock has received the Outstanding Contributor award at the 2026 Northern Ireland Construction Awards, the company said, recognising his work with Translink and on the Gobbins Cliff Path.

The company, which announced the win on 2 October, said Pollock was recognised for his role in schemes across Northern Ireland. Its announcement describes him as operations director (Civils).

The awards were established by the Construction Employers Federation (CEF), according to McLaughlin & Harvey.

Pollock, who said he has spent nearly two decades at the company, said he had had "the privilege of working on some of our biggest civil engineering projects across Northern Ireland, building strong relationships with our clients and supply chain partners while helping support a greener transport network."

McLaughlin & Harvey said WorkSpace, one of its divisions, was also shortlisted in partnership with Translink for Infrastructure Project of the Year, for the Translink Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) Infrastructure Programme.

The Translink framework

McLaughlin & Harvey said Pollock is its primary contact for Translink and played a key role in securing the company's place on the transport operator's FW122 Permanent Way Major Projects Framework.

The framework was initially agreed for five years and supports Translink's capital and maintenance works, the company said when it announced the award in March 2026.

According to that announcement, the permanent way work packages range from single-site renewals and refurbishments to multi-disciplinary design and construction projects worth more than £20m.

McLaughlin & Harvey said it already delivers maintenance and infrastructure projects for Translink across multiple frameworks.

Speaking at the time of the framework award, Pollock said: "The framework provides us with an opportunity to continue our collaboration with Translink, delivering civil engineering projects across Northern Ireland."

Electric bus charging programme

The shortlisted BEV programme covered five transport depots and ended with the installation of new electric bus charging systems, McLaughlin & Harvey said.

WorkSpace said the project ran from January 2024 to July 2025. It said phased programming meant all of the sites remained functional while the work was carried out.

The Gobbins path

The other scheme named in the company's announcement was the restoration of the Gobbins Cliff Path.

According to McLaughlin & Harvey's project page, the reconstruction involved designing and building 23 footbridges and cantilevered walkways, forming a 1km path along the base of a 60m cliff. The client was Larne Borough Council.

The original path opened in 1901.
