How the figures were compiled
The figures cover every notice published on Find a Tender, the UK government's procurement notice service, between 28 September and 4 October 2026, read from its open contracting data feed published by the Cabinet Office under the Open Government Licence v3.0. They count signed contracts that the buyer classified as construction work under division 45 of the Common Procurement Vocabulary, with values as stated in each notice and not adjusted; nine of the 115 valued contracts gave a figure including VAT. One contract gave no usable value and is counted in the number of contracts but not in the total, and six further notices for framework agreements or multi-supplier arrangements are left out of every figure because their values are ceilings on possible future spending. Private-sector contracts, and public contracts not yet published on Find a Tender, are not included.
