How the figures were compiled

The figures come from every notice published on Find a Tender, the UK government's procurement notice service, between 21 and 27 September 2026, read from its open contracting data feed published by the Cabinet Office under the Open Government Licence v3.0. They count signed contracts that the buyer classified as construction work under division 45 of the Common Procurement Vocabulary, and exclude supplies contracts, notices of an intention to award, framework agreements, dynamic purchasing systems and awards naming four or more suppliers.

Values are as stated in each notice and are not adjusted: excluding VAT where the notice gives that figure, otherwise including VAT, which applied to 14 of the 127 valued contracts. One contract gave no usable value and is counted in the number of contracts but not in the total.

The data covers only contracts that public bodies have published on Find a Tender, so private-sector contracts and public contracts not yet published are not included.
