Roam to install 170 EV charging sockets at 14 ProsperCap hotels in the UK
The charge point operator is funding the installation itself, with work under way since September across hotels run under Hilton, IHG and Marriott brands in regional UK cities.

Charge point operator Roam has won a contract to install 170 electric vehicle (EV) charging sockets across 14 UK hotels owned by Singapore-listed ProsperCap Corporation Limited, with installation under way since September 2026.
The package comprises 158 sockets rated at 22kW and 12 rapid sockets rated at 50kW, Roam said in a release issued from Crawley on 20 October. Roam is funding the installation under its fully funded model, which the company said lets the hotels upgrade their charging without significant upfront capital spend.
ProsperCap, which is listed on the Catalist board of the Singapore Exchange, owns 17 predominantly upscale hotels with 3,383 keys in regional UK cities, according to the release. The contract therefore covers 14 of its 17 properties. The hotels trade under Hilton, IHG and Marriott brands and are managed by Valor Hospitality Europe Limited.
James Randall, CEO of Roam, said: "Our aim is to make charging feel like a natural part of visiting a hotel rather than something drivers have to plan their trip around."
Randall said the mix of 22kW and 50kW charging in the project mattered because different hotel users have very different charging requirements.
The client
ProsperCap describes itself on its website as a real estate investment and management company. The release said it had been reviewed by the company's Catalist sponsor, PrimePartners Corporate Finance Pte. Ltd.
Weerachai Amornrat-Tana, Acting Chief Executive Officer of ProsperCap, said: "A growing number of our guests now travel in EVs, and reliable charging is an increasingly important part of the upscale experience they expect from our hotels."
He added that all electricity across the group's hotels is sourced from renewable contracts.
Roam's hotel business
The deal follows a separate hospitality contract announced in May 2026, when Roam said it would install 112 EV charge points across 20 Hand Picked Hotels properties in the UK.
Roam said it was named the UK's leading hotel EV charging network in July 2026 on the basis of Zapmap data. Zapmap's hotel charging guide ranks Roam first among charge point brands at hotel locations with 437 chargers. Zapmap counted over 4,100 chargers at hotels or similar accommodation as of June 2026, which it put at about 4% of all UK charging devices.
Among hotel brands, Zapmap's guide gives Premier Inn the most EV charging locations, ahead of Holiday Inn and Hilton.
| Hotel brand | EV charging locations |
|---|---|
| Premier Inn | 121 |
| Holiday Inn | 77 |
| Hilton | 49 |

The Department for Transport counted 121,171 public EV chargers in the UK on 1 July 2026, of which 28,887 were rated rapid or above (50kW+).
Zapmap classes Roam, formerly known as EVC, as a destination charging network. The National Wealth Fund describes its model as AC charging where people already park, including workplaces, hotels, residential flats and shopping and leisure centres.
Roam's financing
In November 2025 the National Wealth Fund committed £25m to Roam as part of a £65m debt raise alongside NatWest and Triodos Bank UK. The fund said at the time that Roam, a Denham Capital portfolio company, had already installed 3,000 UK charging points and had a 40,000-strong pipeline.
Randall said then that the facility would allow Roam to respond to geographical demand patterns for EV charging across the UK.
Roam's website says it offers both fully funded and client-funded commercial models.
Installation of the 170 sockets started in September 2026; Roam has not given a completion date.
